Celebrity agent Nick Fordham pulls Surry Hills penthouse from auction, to focus on renting

Celebrity agent Nick Fordham has pulled his Surry Hills penthouse from its scheduled auction.

Fordham will instead take his chances in an improving rental market with his historic converted warehouse Hutch & Hutch taking $3000-a-week tenants.

The Hutchinson St offering was listed with $7m hopes, which were then revised down to $6.5m, with listing agent PPD’s Alexander Phillips then advising Fordham on the merits of taking it off the market.

Fordham recently bought the historic 1880s Spicer House in Woollahra for around $15m, which is located next door to his mother, Veronica, through Phillips.

His whole-floor penthouse is a consolidation of two apartments atop the $30m SJB-designed block which was developed by Markus Kahlbetzer’s BridgeLane.
