Simon Hill, who advocates a 100 per cent plant-based diet, has expanded his Ben Buckler penthouse space – and bought himself a luxury Byron Bay retreat.
His recent Hastings Pde, North Bondi, apartment cost $4.75m, secured in an off-market deal. It added 66sq m space plus 69sq m more of the rooftop decking.
His initial acquisition cost $3.69m in 2016 when the next-door apartment was bought from actor Simon Baker and Rebecca Rigg.
The two-storey space also came with 125sq m of rooftop decking now with a pizza oven.
Hill lives at the updated 1920s apartment with restaurateur partner Tanya Smart and two dachshunds, Gnocchi and Giuseppe.
He told The Daily Telegraph’s At Home magazine in 2020 that his decor style was earthy and coastal but still modern.
It was 2019 when Hill joined a number of health advocates selected by actor Chris Hemsworth for a wellness app, Centr, having come to prominence while sharing advice through his longtime podcast, Plant Proof.
Centr was launched offering a curated range of daily workouts, meal plans and meditation exercises from experts including Hemsworth’s actor wife, Elsa Pataky, and former The Biggest Loser trainer Tiffiny Hall.
Hill’s investment portfolio includes the penthouse in the Sundeck complex on Bondi Rd, Bondi, which was bought in 2021 through McGrath Real Estate’s Simon Exelton when it was offered for the first time in three decades.
The commerce entrepreneur had bought a four-bedroom Paddington home in 2014 for $2.6m after his relocation from the Melbourne suburb of Richmond.
Late last year, Hill spent $12.4m to buy Sirens, a luxury holiday rental at Wategos Beach, near Byron Bay.
Located 100m from the sand, the upper level of the house features a contemporary open-plan design with a large wraparound veranda.
It has views over the beach towards Julian Rocks, which occasionally feature in his vegan video posts.
Its tropical garden has established trees, including pandanus. There’s lush green lawns along with a daybed cabana and outdoor showers.
